At the beginning of 2023, Jerry Millen, owner of the Greenhouse in Walled Lake, had a great idea to offer a contest to win the first ever cannabis wedding.
“We’re seeing a generation choose weed over booze,” Millen said. “Even when it comes to traditional celebrations like weddings.”
So he put the word out and by the end of April, over 15,000 people had entered. Now, the lucky winning couple is preparing to celebrate both cannabis and their nuptials on October 5th at 4pm.
And The Winners of the First Ever Cannabis Wedding Are…
Danielle Geralds and Nile Hunt of Waterford, Michigan are the winners of the first ever Cannabis Wedding Giveaway courtesy of Greenhouse of Walled Lake. Danielle met Nile while Nile was in the United States Navy.
The couple will come together to celebrate their love for one another. But they will also celebrate the power of cannabis. While serving in Afghanistan, Nile sustained a severe life-long injury from an IED. Luckily, he has access to cannabis which has gone and continues to go the distance in helping to ease the pain of his injury.
This Is Going to Be Epic
Millen and his crew know the importance of giving back to the community. And though ‘give back’ is the battle cry throughout the whole cannabis industry, the Greenhouse always takes it to the next level.
This cannabis wedding is going to be epic. The couple is inviting more than 50 close friends and family members, and the ceremony will be performed just outside Greenhouse.
The wedding will be fully paid for and produced by Greenhouse of Walled Lake, Choice Labs of Jackson, and Treehouse CBD. There will be a tasteful cannabis motif designed and planned by an experienced, local wedding planner. The fully catered event will offer THC-infused hors d’oeuvres, dinner, and mocktails, prepared by experienced cannabis chefs and bartenders. And there will be top-shelf Bud and Dab bars.
No detail was spared.
Also included is a rehearsal dinner on Wednesday, October 4th, a videographer and photographer, a wedding dress for the bride, bridesmaids’ dresses, tuxedos for the groom and groomsmen, hair and makeup for the wedding party, a limo ride to the ceremony, and wedding night accommodations at the Westin Airport Hotel.
Entertainment will include a violinist and DJ, and the high school marching band will perform Here Comes the Bride. The ceremony itself will be performed by Steve Woodcock, a hospice Minister.
Sharing the Love!
“No dispensary in the United States has ever given away or produced a 100% cannabis-based wedding and we are proud to be the first,” says Millen. “We are also inviting the public to attend this unique event which is costing more than $40,000 to produce.”
The ceremony takes place at Greenhouse of Walled Lake and the reception will be held at Green Oak Food Studios in South Lyon at 6:30pm, following a cocktail hour.
Happy Trails to Geralds and Hunt
